Objectives/Goals:
The Harm Reduction Academy is a global learning initiative designed to build skills and foster dialogue for the elimination of AIDS and Hepatitis C among people who inject drugs. The course provides hands-on learning and the latest developments in effective responses to HIV in challenging environments, drawing on decades of practical experience.
Key Activities/Results:
- Delivered a six-month course combining lectures and practical field visits across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
- Equipped participants with skills to assess drug-using communities and develop effective intervention programs.
- Focused on optimizing resource allocation for maximum health and social impact.
- Enhanced participants’ ability to motivate behavior change and link drug users to key medical services.
- Trained harm reduction specialists from over 18 countries, fostering international networks and collaboration.
